Restorative Movement Class Schedule
I LOVE your book and am learning so much; it reinforces things I've heard you say in class. I've been working on my feet. For a long time I've not gone barefoot because of cramping in my hammer toe. This past week, I've done toe stretching (interlacing fingers & toes) which isn't real easy for me to do, but I try my best. I've also been mindful of keeping my weight on my heels, and I practice going barefoot in the house a few times a day. This morning, I left my taiji shoes at home and practiced the entire hour without cramping in my hammer toe!! That is like a miracle. I believe the things you are teaching me are helping my hammer toe correct itself--I'm SO glad. Thank you!
I like that the movements in Restorative Movement are natural ones--the kinds of movements we make every day without thinking. Now I think about how I'm moving, and how I'm not moving. And it's miraculous how all the aches and pains from sitting still too long have disappeared. Anyone of any age could benefit from this! —Leigh Wilson
I am 71-years-old and have exercised all my adult life. I still go to other exercise classes and enjoy an hour or two of aerobic exercise most day. I wear a watch that records steps and I try to get 10,000 steps in each day. Restorative Movement with Margaret Miner is educating me on how to be aligned when I take those steps; she shows me how to get more movement in all my muscles from my feet to my neck. I am relearning to think about working the small muscles in my body not just the large muscle groups that I have been using my whole life to accomplish tasks. I am learning to think more about movement, so the arthritis that runs through generations in my family will not take over my active lifestyle. The only regret I have is that I did not know about this program many years ago.
. Margie spent quality ( one on one ) time with me not only showing me proper alignment but why this was important. After a few weeks of moving with purpose, I could see a noticeable change. My balance has improved and movements are now made with ease and confidence. I am much more aware of where my body is in space and can anticipate sudden positional changes. Positive movement and body movement awareness has become a pivotal part of my wellness program. I continue to see improvements, and at 63 I look foreword to getting back on my bike this Spring! I also have a new pair of Roller skates! Thank you Margie for helping me turn my life around! I feel like me again.
